AllBright Alliance will deliver Chelsea FC Women a tailored programme to support all female employees, with a key focus on players as they transition from retirement into new careers.
AllBright, the world’s leading career network that is making work, work for ALL women, today announces its partnership with Chelsea FC Women to support female players and employees across the organisation.
Chelsea FC Women has signed as a founding partner of the AllBright Alliance, a global collective with a mission to drive change in the workplace and make work, work for ALL women. Driven by data, the Alliance creates bespoke programmes for organisations to empower their female workforce with the skills, connections and confidence needed to succeed in their careers.
The AllBright Alliance will deliver Chelsea FC Women a tailored programme to support its 200 female employees in the organisation, with a particular focus on supporting players as they transition into retirement and into new careers.
The AllBright Alliance exists to create long term culture shift and new business models and structures by providing cross industry networking, learning opportunities and mentorship to nurture the career development of employees of member organisations. It is designed to support women across all stages in their career to drive the systemic change that is needed.
As a founding member of The AllBright Alliance, Chelsea FC Women commits to empowering women’s leadership in football – helping female employees at all levels of the organisation to build confidence, develop skills, access networks and community and ultimately unlock career opportunities.
The AllBright Alliance will give Chelsea FC Women access to exclusive workshops and events and support emerging female talent and players at the club through the AllBright Elevator programme. Participants will also become part of the global Mentor Matching programme as both mentors and mentees, meaning existing members of the AllBright mentor programme could be matched up to be mentored by a Chelsea footballer.
In addition, AllBright have committed to donating 10% of the net revenues for community led projects supporting women in underserved communities. Alliance Partners will be able to select which project they will contribute to, meaning the more partners invest, the more they are driving impact for communities as well as their organization.
Viv Paxinos, CEO of AllBright says: “We are delighted that Chelsea FC Women have signed as founding members of the AllBright Alliance. By doing so they are joining a collective of organisations and changemakers whose mission is to find a solution to the challenges faced by women in the workplace.
“We know that one in three women has considered downshifting their role or quitting due to burnout.[1] Fawcett Society’s most recent Sex and Power Index highlights that women make up just 8% of FTSE100 CEOs and there are no women of colour[2]. The sporting sector not only has very few women in senior roles but there has been a progressive decline in the number of female sport governing body chairs.
“That’s why AllBright has created the Alliance. There’s a clear and urgent need for change, and a huge opportunity for organisations to step up and transform their businesses to drive progress towards equity faster. Now is the time to act to make work, work for ALL women, regardless of age, stage, race or profession. This is not just good for all women, it’s good for business. In 2021, 73% of businesses with gender equality practices increased their productivity and profitability[3]. The AllBright Alliance supports better recruitment, retention and progression and ultimately drives business success.

“We’re looking forward to working with Chelsea FC Women to provide the tools and networks needed to create the next generation of female leaders.”
Chelsea FC Women Manager, Emma Hayes, says: “We’re proud to be a founding partner of this important programme. As a club, supporting and nurturing the career paths of our employees and of our female players is a top priority. From a player perspective, we want to give them the best chance of career success once they start the transition into retirement.
“It’s well documented that professional sports women do not benefit in the same way financially as the men. Many of England’s Lionesses have been left with no choice but to take second jobs during their playing careers
“Collaborating with AllBright will equip our retiring players with the tools to take the diligence, motivation and work ethic they have displayed for so many years on the pitch and apply these skills when transitioning into leadership roles.”
Jo Stone, Director of HR, Chelsea Football Club says: “As part of our strategy to empower, develop and promote women’s leadership in football we are so pleased to be a founding member of the AllBright Alliance.
Collaborating with AllBright demonstrates a tangible commitment to our female employees that we value them and will support their career progression providing them with unique, credible opportunities that will enable us to develop and retain our female talent.
As a founding member we will be able to provide support in areas such as mentoring, networking, upskilling and community which will support their leadership pathway through the club.
