- Trequartista Consulting – blend of PR/ Communications & Management Consulting
- Employees keep majority of any business fees they win
- Launches with clients ranging from FTSE listed financial services firm to EduTech start-up
Chris Wilson has left his role as comms manager for Coutts, the wealth manager and private bank, to launch his own consultancy – Trequartista Consulting.
The business has launched with five clients, ranging from a FTSE listed financial services firm to an EduTech start-up. Chris, who before being in-house with NatWest and Coutts worked for various agencies including Citigate Dewe Rogerson has developed a model he thinks will “encourage more entrepreneurial consultants”.
He continued: “All my career I have wondered why so often the so-called more junior members of the team do most of the work for very little of the reward. And so, I’m developing a consultancy where those who deliver the results for clients will reap the rewards.”
Entrepreneurship is at the heart of what Trequartista Consulting is all about. That’s why advisors who bring in new business don’t simply receive a small cut as a bonus – they will pocket the majority of the monthly fee every single month. The rest will be used to pay and train support staff who will assist with the day-to-day work. From there, advisors and support staff will be encouraged to build their own business under the Trequartista model.
Chris Wilson, Trequartista Consulting’s founder, said: “I have been lucky enough to learn from some amazing senior professionals over the years, but also from some terrible leaders who believe only in themselves and their abilities yet delivering very poor advice and results. Trequartista is a business where everyone will be encouraged to be individual, to bring personality and advise their clients the way they think best without feeling they need to conform to a senior director/ or business-owner’s pre-determined idea of what an employee should look like.”
Trequartista Consulting’s virtual doors formally open on 01/11/21 and is not just a Communications Agency, but also a form of management consultancy “rooted in communications” Wilson says.
“Being the person who has had to promote and protect a number of businesses means you often get a seat at the top table in order to understand exactly what those businesses are going through. That’s why Trequartista doesn’t just advise on external, internal, client and supplier communications as well as public affairs, but on corporate strategy, business development and risk management too.”
The business is sector-agnostic and consults clients not only across its ongoing communications and corporate strategy requirements but also audits and reviews existing agency relationships, drawing on in-house and agency experience to review whether businesses, and agencies, are getting value for money.
Whether it is content creation or crisis management, Trequartista can use Chris’ experience and a network of partner professionals and encourages both advisors and businesses to get in touch – if they want to be brave in their communications, and in their careers.
