Oakleaf and Professional Training Solutions launch employability programme to support adults that struggle with mental ill-health

The courses, announced in line with Global Mental Health Day, will support individuals getting started or back into a work environment

Guildford, UK; October 2021: Oakleaf, the Guildford-based mental health charity supporting people through training and wellbeing social activities, has partnered with Professional Training Solutions (PTS), the provider of employability, apprenticeship courses and training programmes across London, Surrey and the South East, to deliver an employability programme to help individuals get started or return to a work environment.

As part of the National Lottery funded Pathways to Work project, the fortnightly courses, which start from the 27th October, provide work-related training via face-to-face and online sessions. Learners will also be signposted to other training courses through PTS, including Health and Social care and customer service depending on their choice and preferences.

Annalise Baker, Client Services Manager of Oakleaf, commented: “Oakleaf exists to improve the lives of people managing mental ill-health in Surrey, and to reduce social isolation by actively engaging and supporting individuals. The pandemic has been a challenging time for many, and we hope that this programme with PTS will help to increase confidence, independence, teaching new skills and obtaining new qualifications.”
