Pioneering climate engagement provider ecolytiq announces partnership with TapiX by Dateio, the game-changing API in payment data enrichment

BERLIN 22 February 2022 – A new and dynamic partnership has been announced between Berlin-based Sustainability-as-a-Service®provider ecolytiq, and TapiX, Dateio’s API-based service that enriches payment data in real-time. While ecolytiq will benefit from TapiX’s detailed and precise categorisations of transactions, TapiX’s clients will have access to and benefit from the ecolytiq carbon footprinting technology which calculates personal environmental impact based on payment transactions.

The Sustainability-as-a-Service® software from ecolytiq calculates personal environmental impact, such as CO2 values, on the basis of payment transactions with the aim of shifting consumers’ behaviour towards more sustainable spending. By tapping into the TapiX API-based service, ecolytiq will be able to provide clients with even more precise categorisation and personalisation of data, such as, the merchant’s name, brand logo, location and URL.

“We’re happy to extend our product offering to empower and educate consumers about greener spending habits and carbon footprints. Through TapiX we already provide consumers valuable insights into their daily spending and supply a solid foundation for budgeting,” says Dateio co-founder and COO, Ivan Dovica. He adds: “By partnering with ecolytiq, we see an opportunity to push this further by allowing consumers to experience an insightful payment overview that improves not only their financial decision-making but also bears environmental impact in mind.”

In partnering with ecolytiq, TapiX will be able to offer the unique carbon footprint feature to enhance its current offering. Through its pioneering Sustainability-as-a-Service® solution, ecolytiq is able to show its customers, banks, fintech companies and financial service providers, the individual impact their purchasing behavior is having on the environment.  ecolytiq can offer customers context around these calculations as well as being able to offset their footprints and invest sustainably. By combining these two fintech solutions, TapiX will offer customers a whole new level of transparency and relevance to what impact their payment transactions have on the environment and educate them as to how they can actively make a difference towards a greener economy through their purchasing habits.

“The threat of climate change needs state-of-the-art impact tech, leveraging the power and reach of banks to help consumers fight global warming with their wallets,” says ecolytiq co-founder and CPO, David Lais. He adds: “Combining our ecolytiq SaaS solution with TapiX’s powerful payment data enrichments will help consumers gain more transparency and understanding of how their spending habits impact our climate. The payment industry is ripe for becoming an engagement vehicle to promote climate action and, with this partnership, we set out to do just that.”
