SKSC, (Smurfit Kappa Security Concepts), the internationally recognised high security printing and identity management solutions provider, has completed a successful ISO14001:2015 re-certification audit, demonstrating its commitment to ongoing environmental improvement.

ISO 14001 is the internationally recognised standard for environmental management systems (EMS), awarded to organisations that meet stringent criteria in minimising their environmental footprint and continually improving their environmental performance. SKSC's achievement of this certification reaffirms its commitment to integrating sustainable practices into its daily operations.

To achieve certification the approved auditors carried out numerous assessments into the company’s environmental policies and procedures, ensuring that they are taking proactive measures to minimise their environmental footprint, comply with relevant legal requirements, and achieve their environmental objectives. The framework encompasses various aspects, from resource usage and waste management to monitoring environmental performance and involving stakeholders in environmental commitments.

Caoimhe O’Donoghue, Customer Service & Compliance Manager at SKSC, commented: “Retaining our ISO 14001 certificate demonstrates to our stakeholders, customers and regulators that we take our environmental responsibilities seriously, by implementing an environmental management system that complies with international standards.”

Peter Thomas, Managing Director at SKSC added: “We are extremely proud to have successfully achieved the ISO14001:2015 standard once again.  As a company we continue to innovate and adapt our practices to meet evolving environmental expectations and regulatory requirements, and to contribute positively to the communities in which we operate.”
