  • Industry Alerts, a B2B competitor intelligence tool, reveals UK wide estate agency rankings
  • In London, Winkworth and Dexters battle it out for first place
  • Free access dashboard also offers insight into rankings in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds

Friday 29th October 2021… In the capital, Winkworth and Dexters currently fight for first place closely followed by Ellisons Estate Agents. Reeds Rains dominates the search results in Manchester, followed by Hunters. Meanwhile, in Birmingham, Dixons, LV Property and Glovers battle it out at the top of the rankings. EXP, Savills, Slater Hogg and The Estate Agency Company fight for top spot in Glasgow.

Industry Alerts also reveals valuable ranking insights nationally. It shows Hunters as the only estate agent to rank in the top three in two of the UK’s five major cities – with them currently leading the pack in Leeds.

Key insights

This research also identifies under performers in the rankings relative to their size and spend, says Michael Beer, Founder of Industry Alerts. “For example, Purplebricks and Get Agent rarely rank on the first page of Google according to this research, but they are the most dominant advertisers on Google nationwide.”

The Industry Alerts analysis also uncovers other key search insights, such as the prominence of comparison sites, with Three Best Rated occupying the most dominant positions for searches made in Glasgow, for example. And it also underlines the importance of Google Maps results, with up to 8% of those searching checking for estate agents based on their current location.

“With comparison websites and map results capturing such a significant proportion of search traffic, this highlights the importance for estate agents of maintaining their profiles and reputations on these websites,” says Beer.

Climb the rankings

Industry Alerts currently monitors the rankings of over 1,000 estate agents in the UK, for hundreds of different searches. This research is updated every week and the research dashboards are free to access.

“Currently two to three estate agents in each of the UK’s major cities dominate the rankings on Google.”

“For estate agents who are currently lower down the rankings, this should stress the value of implementing SEO strategies to climb higher up both the organic rankings and the map pack rankings. It also underlines the need to maintain a positive reputation on comparison websites, such as Three Best Rated and Yell.”
